About Us
 

Personal Best Personal Training works with men and women of all ages and fitness levels. By promoting behavioral and lifestyle changes, we help you integrate exercise and nutrition into your daily life.

Personal Best Personal Training was established in June of 2001 by Kathy Ekdahl, a certified personal trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, fitness instructor and yoga instructor. As the owner of a health club for 10 years, Kathy realized the tremendous benefit of one-on-one support and motivation, and launched Personal Best to provide this service to her clients.

Personal Best Personal Training offers personal training and complementary services, including:

Personal Best Personal Training offers you a greater personal experience than what you traditionally find with personal training on the Internet — an experience derived from our focus on the individual and our approach to pursuing optimal health for the whole person. We recognize the need for a multi-faceted, integrated fitness regimen and create for you a program incorporating exercise, healthy foods, and life balance. We develop our programs in collaboration with a network of health professionals that includes physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, nutritionists, massage therapists, and personal coaches.

Personal Trainer, Karen Scafidi

Personal Best has grown considerably since 2001, and has added additional staff to meet the growing needs of Personal Best’s clients. Karen Scafidi, an AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and a BTS (Body Training Systems) Certified Group STEP and Group Power Instructor, joined Personal Best Personal Training in December 2007.

A resident of Hudson since 1991, she lives with her husband Mike, their 2 children, and a very busy dog named Scooter. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern University. In her free time, Karen enjoys exercise, scrap-booking, reading the latest best sellers, rooting for the Red Sox and the Patriots, and rooting for her kids baseball, basketball and soccer teams. She has been the coach of her daughter’s soccer team for 4 years. Karen has been teaching group fitness classes at local gyms for over 7 years, became certified as a personal trainer in fall of 2007. Karen’s innate enthusiasm and love of health and fitness combined with her years of experience as a fitness instructor make her a welcome addition to Personal Best Personal Training.
